2018 Rescue Summary

Holdover Hounds: 8 (7 adults and 1 senior)
Either due to medical reasons or not finding the right family, these hounds were rescued in 2017 but not rehomed in 2017. Ensuring the health and well-being of each dog and matching them with a family that fits their needs and temperament are our top priorities, and sometimes that process takes time.

Intakes: 51 (9 puppies, 28 adults, and 14 seniors)
MNBR primarily takes in dogs through private relinquishments, both in and out of state, but will also pull from shelters both in and out of state when there are funds and foster homes available.

Adoptions: 51 (9 puppies, 30 adults, and 12 seniors)
MNBR uses a four-step approval process to find loving homes for each dog in our care; application, phone interview, veterinary or reference check, and a home visit.

Health & Welfare Expenses: $42,000
Prior to being matched with their forever family, MNBR ensures each hound is spayed or neutered, properly vaccinated, microchipped, and evaluated for any health or behavioral concerns. Expenses include wellness visits, vaccinations, spay/neuter procedures, dental procedures, surgeries, medications, heartworm treatment, heartworm preventatives, flea/tick preventatives, prescription food, and much more.

Adoption Fees: $13,850
MNBR adoption fees range from $200-$350 and are based on age. As the average veterinary cost per dog is $700, MNBR uses donations to help bridge the gap. As a registered 501(c)3 all donations to MNBR are tax deductible and go directly to the care of our dogs.
